Addiction: Recovery from Addiction Through Faith and Prayer

by Bobbie Parsons, Jr.

More than 760,000 people have died since 1999 from a drug overdose. Two out of three drug overdose deaths in 2018 involved an opioid. There are addictions to many other issues in the United States and really the entire world such as sex addiction, food addiction, alcohol addiction, shopping and other addictions that people have focused on. This book has information that will help the reader to overcome any addiction by faith and prayer through God. Addictions have the power to destroy lives for not only the addict but also the people they are close to or those they associate with. Think about it: As the reader you are married to a porn addict, alcohol addict or other drugs. Obviously the bad habit won’t be cured by ignoring this habit.

In fact, these very habits could probably end up causing you to have lots of fights and mistrust. Worse still, the habits can end up being at the center of your separation with the person you once vowed to love and protect till death do you part. Then the question that you ask is:”Why would someone get to the extent of doing something so harmful to themselves and their loved ones when they know this very thing could result in even greater problems?

It is simple: These are addictions and addictions don’t make sense to the person who is not addicted. You cannot wrap your mind around why it is so hard to stop drinking, doing drugs or watching porn when you are a person who is not an addict. It seems that most readers have tried many many things and read a lot of materials that seem good on paper, but the one thing that these materials fail to do is sustain you through the period of being clean and sober. You’ve probably tried following many programs that failed to help you overcome your addiction. The reader knows how it feels to be helpless when it is something that you desperately want to overcome. \

The reader might turn to giving up your struggles to God, and letting Him whose power is above every other take over your life. If the reader truly wants to change, let God who has the power to change you from the inside out do that for you I a way that you won’t even be able to explain. This book will show you how to do just that by tapping into the power of prayer and faith to involve God in your life to help overcome an addiction forever.

Recovery from addiction can come from using secular methods of treatment, bit don’t miss out on the beauty and joy of becoming well and whole again using faith and prayer through God. You will find strength, hope, happiness, serenity, freedom and unconditional love from God who will never abandon you. Do not choose to walk a lonely frustrating journey; walk with God. God does not promise that the road will be easy, but He does promise that He will walk with your every step of the way.
